At Downsview Seventh-day Adventist Church, we believe that true education is the harmonious development of the physical, mental, and spiritual powers, designed to prepare us not just for this life, but for the life to come. We place a high value on Christian education, supporting institutions like Crawford Adventist Academy where dedicated teachers go beyond the curriculum to pray over every student and desk, seeking God’s guidance for their academic careers,. We encourage parents to make the necessary sacrifices to provide their children with this spiritual foundation, recognizing that while the world offers knowledge, Christian education fosters character development and academic excellence that honors God,.
Within our congregation, we are committed to being earnest students of the Word through our Sabbath School and Bible study programs. We believe that the church is a school where members of all ages—from the cradle roll to our seniors—must diligently search the scriptures to become “mighty” in understanding God’s truth,. To facilitate this, we offer the “Discover Bible School,” an accessible online resource where individuals can sign up for lessons to deepen their understanding of salvation and biblical prophecy. We emphasize that the study of the Bible demands our most diligent effort, for it provides the wisdom necessary for salvation and serves as our safeguard against deception in these last days,.
Ultimately, our goal is to counter the “Godless” education of the world with a curriculum that restores the image of God in the soul,. We reject the notion that we are too busy to study or that we can rely on the findings of others; instead, we challenge every member to become a “workman that needeth not to be ashamed,” rightly dividing the word of truth,. By grounding our education in the fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom, we aim to equip our members to be intelligent defenders of the faith and effective laborers in God’s vineyard,.
